STAFFORD BROTHERS
There’s something extra-special about DJ duos that are also brothers. New Zealand’s Stafford Brothers are a union who like to keep it in the family, setting their look as a cross between ’80s rock and modern street.
Matt and Chris Stafford are on fire at the moment. Their recent sizzler ‘Come My Way’ with Tom Neville on Toolroom firmly under their belt, they’ve a slew of releases upcoming, with a joint Juan Kidd single on Defected, a release on Ministry Of Sound in Australia called ‘Speaker Freaker’ with Seany B, and a track with Dabruck & Klein on their We Play label. Matt enlightens us about their sense of style, “I just love dark colours, which works well in club land as everything gets so messy!”
They prefer to buy online and when touring, for fear of running into someone with the same thing on, although when they were younger that wasn’t really a problem. Matt explains, “I’m a bit bigger than my brother so he always got the hand-me-downs, and nothing of his ever fitted me, so no swapping happens.”
